Students from low-income families do not have the same opportunities to thrive during the summer months as compared to their peers from families that have more resources. As a result, low-income students are more likely to enter school in the fall unprepared for learning because they lost valuable skills they had mastered the previous year in school. Horizons addresses this important issue.

May 23rd, Dianelle Laney, a member of the Kent County Opioid Intervention Team. She is one of the folks working in the trenches of the battle to save lives and to make folks change their habits. She daily witnesses a part of life that most of us are not familiar with.
May 16th, The Kent County Social Action Committee. We hope to have three speakers from this active local association give us an update on their mission and recent events.
