The origin of CBG

he origin of CBG

Initially name the Conservative Breakfast Group, and now known as the Community Breakfast group, CBG was founded in January of 2009.  At that time there were very vocal liberals who openly opposed George Bush. There was no place to discuss conservative values.  Not at a party, not at Church, not at any public place. We formed a breakfast group so conservative values could be discussed by conservatives seeking the truth. Times change and so did the members of our group. We have no political affiliation. Our motto was “in search of political discernment” that now is “in search of the truth”     Members are encouraged to bring their favorite clipping on a current topic to discuss.  Conervative to Liberal and everywhere in between.

Founder, John Sirna of Rock Hall, MD served as the first Chairman until November 2010.  Anne Sirna of Rock Hall, Maryland served as the secretary during that period. Currently, John Sirna serves as the chairman and David Atlas as his assistant and webmaster.

The original core group of members included:

John Sirna, Peter Metcalf,  Jim Tramell,  Anne Sirna, Tim Lloyd, Billy Short, Donna Short, Missy Carroll, Sandy Terpeluk, Richard Pagella, Mary Lou Pagella,  Al Watson,  Mary Watson, Ed Mercer.

We have met at Java Rock in Rock Hall, Ellen’s Restaurant in Chestertown, Comfort Suites, in Chestertown and currently meet at the Holiday Inn Express in Chestertown, Maryland.

The group fills a strong need for the citizens of Kent County Maryland to seek out the truth, ask questions in a safe environment and come away with honest correct information.
